Our net zero transition
Enabling the transition to net zero
As a leading integrated mobility solutions provider, we are evolving our services across vehicle rental, recovery and repair to support the shift to a low-carbon economy.
ZIGUP is committed to achieving net zero by 2050. We have established ambitious science-based targets, providing a clear and credible framework for measuring our progress to FY2035 and supporting our longer-term net zero goal. Our transition plan turns these goals into practical action across our operations and services, while using our expertise, scale and partnerships to support customers on their own journeys to lower-carbon mobility.
GHG emissions across our value chain
Central to this ambition is the recognition of our place within an automotive value stream. Our carbon footprint graphic demonstrates how >99% of our carbon emissions lie within Scope 3, our value chain. How we work with suppliers and partners across this value stream will be crucial to our journey to net zero emissions.
Science-based targets
The Science Based Targets initiative has validated ZIGUP’s near-term science-based emissions reduction targets

Transition Plan
Our transition plan outlines our targets, actions and governance for reducing emissions towards achieving net zero by 2050

Transition strategy in action
Supporting the shift to a low-carbon economy takes action. Click through the sections below to explore how we are enabling the transition to net zero.
Enabling the transition to low-carbon mobility
We are recognised as a trusted adviser to customers embarking on their drive towards net zero. With end-to-end support and expertise, we are aiding fleet customers to develop and deliver plans to reduce their carbon emissions.
Reducing our operational vehicle emissions
We use service vehicles, mobile technicians and transporters to keep our customers moving. In the UK, we will focus on a transition to electric service vehicles to achieve our near-term emission targets. In Spain, and for larger vehicles, we will explore using alternative fuels.
Reducing our operational site emissions
We use 99% renewable electricity across our businesses, and when opening or improving sites we consider efficiency improvements from upgrading heating systems, installing solar panels, enhancing our monitoring technology and processes.
Driving down accident repair lifecycle emissions
Vehicle accident recovery and repair is carbon intensive. We aim to decarbonise our operations by using lower-carbon energy and fuels.
Working to decarbonise accident response
We manage large networks of external vehicle recovery operators. We will encourage these companies to establish and implement their own carbon reduction plans.
