LONDON

We are committed to becoming a net zero business by 2050.

Central to this ambition is the recognition of our place within an automotive value stream. Our carbon footprint graphic demonstrates how >99% of our carbon emissions lie with scope 3, our value chain. How we work with suppliers and partners across this value stream will be crucial to our journey to net zero emissions.

GHG emissions across our value chain

Our Emissions

The majority of our emissions arise from three categories within our value chain:

Key Scope 3 Categories

95% of our emissions sit within 3 categories

c.18%

Category 2 – Capital goods

The embodied emissions within the vehicles we purchase, coming from the extraction of the raw materials used and from within the vehicle manufacturing processes.

c.45%

Category 11 – Use of sold products

The expected emissions from the fleet vehicles we dispose of throughout the rest of their life with subsequent owners through to scrappage.

c.32%

Category 13 – Downstream leased assets

The tail-pipe emissions from our vehicle fleet when being driven by customers.

In FY2026, we will publish a transition plan outlining a route to net zero and the role we will play, enabling the move towards a low carbon economy.

Net zero transition plan

We are developing a net zero transition plan to set out the principles we will follow and the mitigating actions we will take to respond to the global call to action to tackle climate change. Through this plan, we aim to provide our stakeholders with the critical steps of our pathway to achieving our targets, with priority areas identified aligned with our climate commitments as follows:

  • Being an enabler of the sustainable transition and supporting innovation in our industry
  • Developing a pathway to achieve our emission reduction targets in the short and medium term, and our long-term plan of becoming net zero
  • Detailing how we intend to engage with our supply chain to utilise low-embodied carbon products and seek opportunities to reduce operational and vehicle-related emissions
  • Working to close skills gaps in the EV space through targeted training and apprenticeship programmes, ensuring we and others have the capability and capacity to service and manage complex, low-emission vehicles
  • The identification of key partners to augment our core competencies and accelerate the transition
