Supporting industry policy development
As a major industry participant, we are conscious of our responsibilities and the expertise we can bring to industry-wide issues such as the energy transition for LCVs.
As one of the largest rental providers of LCVs in both the UK&I and Spain, we are very active in our key industry bodies and together engage with regulators and governmental departments to help support policy development.

One such example is our work with the BVRLA on the Zero Emissions Van Plan and responding to the implications of the UK Government’s ZEV mandate. By bringing our practical expertise across the vehicle lifecycle, and real-world understanding of the market dynamics around the energy transition, we helped to shape the industry response to what is a significant regulatory impact on the UK automotive industry.
There is a lot of myth-busting required with both media and public perception around the energy transition and our goal is to support this transition being achieved in a way which achieves important sustainability goals while not hampering or adding significant cost or impractical regulation. Alongside industry association support, the ZIGUP leadership team have worked through direct engagement with Ministers and local MPs so that the issues which are of greatest relevance to our customers are reflected in policy discussions and decision making.
The recent relaxation of rules such as eLCV driver requirements away from those for HGV drivers is an example of an area we have sought to remove practical impediments to companies adopting eLCVs within their corporate fleets.
