Supporting e-LCV fleet roll-outs
We support a broad range of customers who have made the decision to transition their corporate fleets to eLCVs, providing advice, fleet support and acquiring new vehicles to suit their needs.
One of our key rental customers is the Nurture Group, is the UK’s leading grounds maintenance, landscaping and green workplace services company, which has expanded rapidly through organic growth and acquisitions while pioneering environmental innovation in many areas including tools, vehicles and recycling.

Nurture have made 50 acquisitions in 17 years, which has helped take their total fleet size up to c2,300 vehicles. Our support had grown significantly over the past 18 months with over 80% growth in VOH. We are one of Nurture’s preferred suppliers working alongside their regional teams to support their fleet needs, including their strategy for decarbonising their entire fleet.
Commencing its electrification journey in 2023 with the help of Northgate’s Drive to Zero programme, a thorough fleet analysis was undertaken to identify which if the Nurture Group’s vehicles could be transitioned immediately to EVs based on their usage. The first vehicles to be replaced by eLCVs were small to medium sized vans which travelled less than 150 miles per day. As part of our work supporting their strategy, we have undertaken an EV roadshow to all of their sites, brining fleet and talking to drivers about the vehicles and the challenges with them. We have also worked with them on issues such as home charging solutions – a key issue for eLCV users.
To date we have over 50 EVs on hire to the Nurture Group, ranging from full EV to PHEV and are a mixture of sizes including CDV, SWB, and LWB vehicles.
As we work towards achieving our Net Zero ambitions, the support from Northgate has been instrumental in accelerating our fleet decarbonisation journey. Through initiatives such as their Drive to Zero programme and hands-on support with EV adoption, they’ve helped us make tangible progress in transitioning to electric vehicles across our commercial fleet. Their partnership is enabling us to overcome real-world challenges like driver engagement and home charging, helping to embed low-carbon practices across the Group.
