A key enabler in the shift toward low-carbon mobility.
We understand the importance of bold and decisive action to transition to a low-carbon society. Our commitment to this aim is evident through our ongoing investments in processes, technology, products, services, and people, to drive more sustainable outcomes. This ensures that we have the expertise, facilities, and capacity to assist our customers as a key enabler in the shift toward low-carbon mobility.
Decoupling emissions from business growth
The analysis of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and the modelling of expected business growth have enabled us to set two interrelated targets, with the approach used informed by a science-based target methodology. In addition, we assessed over 15 peer group companies to evaluate the range of emission reduction targets being set in our industry.
- Drive transformational change across the company to achieve a 10% absolute reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2027.
- Ensure that 100% of the electricity we procure is renewable by 2027.
The absolute GHG emission reduction target is ambitious, considering our growth plans and the limited availability of fit-for-purpose EVs and hybrid commercial vehicles.
See what progress we made in FY2024 working towards achieving this target and driving transformational change.
View progressNet zero transition plan
We are developing a net zero transition plan to set out the principles we will follow and the mitigating actions we will take to respond to the global call to action to tackle climate change. Through this plan, we aim to provide our stakeholders with the critical steps of our pathway to achieving our targets, with priority areas identified aligned with our climate commitments as follows:
- Being an enabler of the sustainable transition and supporting innovation in our industry
- Developing a pathway to achieve our emission reduction targets in the short and medium term, and our long-term plan of becoming net zero
- Detailing how we intend to engage with our supply chain to utilise low-embodied carbon products and seek opportunities to reduce operational and vehicle-related emissions
- Working to close skills gaps in the EV space through targeted training and apprenticeship programmes, ensuring we and others have the capability and capacity to service and manage complex, low-emission vehicles
- The identification of key partners to augment our core competencies and accelerate the transition
