FMG spreads festive cheer to local charities
Incident management expert FMG has launched its Christmas campaign early this year, presenting generous cash donations to its charity partners and launching a calendar of Christmas prize-winning activities for FMG staff.
Despite the year bringing challenges and uncertainty for most people, FMG employees have kept to their promise to give something back to their local community, raising £6000 in the last six months for two local charities. The donations will be shared between the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Kirkwood Hospice, both located close to FMG’s head office in Huddersfield.
Claire Owens, Managing Director at FMG said, “We appreciate the huge strain all charities have been under this year, and for our two local partners, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Kirkwood Hospice, it’s our pleasure to be able to spread a little cheer as Christmas approaches. As a business who prides itself on giving something back to our local community, we are delighted by the passion and warmth our people demonstrate with their generous charity donations despite this year being a challenge to most. We genuinely care about the difference FMG makes to the local community”.
FMG has established strong links with the two charities over the past five years through its fundraising arm, FMGive, encouraging staff to get involved with a full range of fundraising activities. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, alongside numerous wonderful, wacky and occasionally weird fundraising initiatives, every FMG employee was also invited to dedicate one fully-paid working day each year to volunteering support for these two local charities, which were chosen by employees.
Claire continued, “We’re proud to be loyal supporters of both charities but equally it’s important to remember that charity begins at home, and we certainly owe some festive thanks to our reliable and dedicated teams who have quickly embraced a new way of working this year in order to continually provide the vital care our customers need, when they need it most.”
FMG is giving employees the chance to win a whole host of fantastic festive fancies this month through their Christmas Cracker campaign. Prizes including Kindles, Amazon Echos, Fitbits, Beats headphones and vouchers can be won each day throughout December as part of its internal festive
engagement campaign. Employees are invited to take part in a whole range of daily fun festive-themed activities including a ‘light up your life’ Christmas lights competition and a celebration of random acts of festive kindness.
FMG employs over 550 staff, is currently recruiting for 25+ roles and is one of the largest private employers in the Huddersfield area.
