Turo and FMG promote car-share confidence
Turo has further enhanced its popular car-sharing service with the inclusion of a complete incident management solution provided by FMG. This ensures both drivers and vehicle owners receive all the support they need following breakdowns and vehicle accidents during car-share trips.
Turo, the US-based peer-to-peer marketplace and self-styled ‘Airbnb for cars’, enables car owners to earn money from their vehicle whilst it’s not in use by putting them in contact, via an app, with a network of potential customers looking to rent a car or van.
The partnership with FMG gives guest drivers immediate access to 24/7 driver support, roadside recovery and replacement vehicle services, whilst car owners benefit from a quality repair service with all costs, timescales and repair methods scrutinised by FMG’s inhouse automotive engineers. FMG’s flexible repair options, including same-day mobile repairs, ensures vehicles are back on the road quickly and earning money for their owners again.
Xavier Collins, UK Director of Turo said, “Our car sharing platform gives guests the freedom to find the perfect car for every occasion. Thanks to the bespoke solution FMG created for us, our guests and hosts can enjoy the ultimate peace of mind, safe in the knowledge that all the help and support they need is just a call away should the unexpected occur.”
Turo now has over 200k users in the UK, with FMG supporting this growth. This summer saw a huge spike in demand for car-sharing as drivers opted for individual trips rather than public ones, a trend they expect to continue.
Andrew Chandler, Sales Director at FMG said, “Car-sharing is rapidly becoming an integral part of modern mobility and we are pleased to demonstrate how every aspect of FMG’s proposition can be tailored to create the perfect solution for a whole new marketplace. With 34 years’ experience in handling incidents from start to finish, we are able to keep Turo’s guest drivers on the move whilst getting the host’s vehicle back on the road in the shortest time possible whilst reducing the financial impact of the incident.”
